Are you like us when we're buying something online and scroll straight to the reviews section? Even better when people have uploaded pictures of the item, right? Well, we have found this especially prevalent in online makeup purchases, something which is inherently difficult and trying at best to get exactly what you want.
This laborious task is even the case offline when you are hauling the aisles of Superdrug, boots, or the slightly more up-market mac or Kiko, debating between two items. Which is best for my skin colour? Is the coverage good? Exactly how long does this bottle last?
Well, Beauty Buddy has come up with a solution. And we are so on board. If you download the app and are a user, you can search for reviews of beauty products. All you've got to do is scan the barcode.
The app was founded in 2017 by sisters Wendy Slattery and Tracy Leavy, who describe it as “like TripAdvisor for beauty." They've recently started working with some beauty brands to send samples to their users. In return, they ask for reviews of the samples. This deal is so mutually beneficial because the brands pay them for the service whilst also gaining more of an idea about who is buying their products.
Here is a list of some of the retailers they already work with:
We've teamed up with them to help them with their mission. Because, frankly, we love the idea. The Beauty Buddy team will ask 100 people on their next campaign to add a video to the already existing reel on Stitcht to review the sample.
Why don't you come and join us?
